Quileen and I have actually known each other in two different “lives” (so to speak). I was her direct supervisor at Wayne State University when she worked for the help desk, and (for the past 1.5 years), we’ve worked together on a self-publishing project for an Instagram influencer (Quileen handled the design and layout, and I handled ghostwriting, copywriting, and editing; we’ve both agreed this is likely the largest project either of us has undertaken in our freelance careers). She is an excellent designer, with a lovely eye to detail, and a lot of excellent suggestions—I don’t think I could have finished this project with anyone else. In terms of when I managed her, I have nothing but praise. She was a recommendation from another staff member, and I am thrilled to this day that I ran with that recommendation! She was great in that role—always ready with answers for questions I had when we were troubleshooting, timely, and polite and professional with her coworkers and our users (if only all of my staff over the years had been like her!). She’s a huge asset to any project or organization—and great to be around and talk with! I can’t recommend anyone higher than I do her!
